Why do we smoke? For what sake we do smoke? When do we feel like smoking? What is there in smoking? Is that the satisfaction for fashion? Do we really feel something great? Even I don’t have the actual and exact answer for this question though I am a smoker too. Sorry, but it’s true. I know smoking is not good for health, it’s injurious to health and causes a cancer too if taken longer but I myself don’t know how to accuse from this..? How to quit my smoking habit? I call it fire chocolate (personally), but mostly we call it sikka, churot in our Nepali language. I do take this quite 5-10 a day. It’s a big range, I know that too. I have to quit this habit, I know this too. But don’t know how? When?
Really, this kind of things when changes to habits, its hell. I cannot help myself from this. Not only me, is this a habit of about 50% of youths in Nepal. I don’t know for what other takes this but about me, believe me, when I get busy I don’t take this. I think being busy is the only cure for this habit, but till when? No answer for that too. I think the only way to stop this is not to produce any other single cigarettes but will that be the final solution? I think NO because government is getting a huge tax and a vat from that. They will not take any actions for this. I am damn sure.
Not only guys, now it’s common for the girls too. I can easily see, these days that girls does smokes in cafes, pubs, discos and bars. Though guys smoke openly even in the road but girls are also not less in the smoking competition.
What I feel is we should quite smoking, we should not smoke onwards, but I myself cannot quit. How shall I make awareness? Whatever goes with me, I would like to suggest other people that, please quit a habit of smoking. It’s not a fashion. It’s a way to hell. Every single cigarette is a single stairs for hell. I hope that you guys will be serious with my words because this article is not written by a normal writer, it’s written by me myself, and I wrote this with all my experiences.
Point to be noted:
Every year 20% of people die because of smoking in world.
Tobacco smoke contains nicotine, an addictive stimulant. The effect of nicotine in first time or irregular users is an increase in alertness and memory, and mild euphoria. In chronic users, nicotine simply relieves the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal: confusion, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, and dysphoria. Withdrawal symptoms in chronic users begin to appear approximately 30 minutes after every dose. Nicotine also disturbs metabolism and suppresses appetite. This is because nicotine, like many stimulants, increases blood sugar.
Nicotine is a powerful, addictive stimulant and is one of the main factors leading to the continued tobacco smoking. Although the amount of nicotine inhaled with tobacco smoke is quite small (most of the substance is destroyed by the heat) it is still sufficient to cause physical and/or psychological dependence.
